Meet Our Board

Lou Sandoval


Lou Sandoval is the President and CEO of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce. He brings decades of global business experience to lead the preeminent organization that serves as the voice of Illinois businesses. Previously, Sandoval served as President and Founder of Halo Advisory Group, a management consulting firm working with Fortune 100 clients.

Lou has served on the Wintrust Bank Board of Directors since 2015, where he chairs the risk management committee and serves on nominating, compensation, and governance. He brings over 30 years of professional experience in business development, mergers and acquisitions, technology, and leading strategic growth initiatives. Lou has also served on various local and national boards in the nonprofit sector for over two decades.

Lou has worked with Fortune 100 companies to lead technology-driven organizational transformations in consumer engagement with health care, business services, durable consumer products, and industrial products. His diverse background gives him a unique vantage point of many market verticals and has made him a valuable advisor to many companies. He serves on the advisory board of two early-stage startups in satellite communications and marine technology.

He has held leadership positions on the Boy Scouts of America Board of Directors, and he served on the board of directors of the 145-year-old Chicago Yacht Club for a decade, where he also served as the sixty-ninth commodore and chair. Lou serves on the board of trustees of Epic Academy, a charter high school in the South Chicago neighborhood where he grew up.

Lou lives on Chicago’s Southside with his wife and two daughters. He is a competitive offshore sailor in his spare time, having won the storied Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac nine times.
